Spotify’s 'What's New' feed tracks latest music, podcast releases

`What's New` is a new section in the Spotify app that eventually collects new music and content from musicians and podcasts users follow on the platform. The feed, which is rolling out globally over the coming weeks on iOS and Android, will be accessible via a new bell icon on the top right of the app`s home screen. A blue dot will show when there`s new content in the feed.

Spotify will not take a cut of podcast subscription revenue. Apple will keep up to 30 percent of podcast subscription fees under its program, which is launching next month. Similarly, you won't be able to purchase Spotify podcast subscriptions through Apple.

Now Spotify will filter your liked songs by mood and genre

The company said that it is rolling out a new feature through which listeners can easily sort their “Liked Songs” collection for every mood and moment through new Genre and Mood filters. These filters will change as the user likes new songs, Spotify says. For now, it will only be available in English-speaking markets, including the US, Canada, and the UK.
