Obesity, kidney ailments reasons behind big cats' death at Delhi zoo: Report
7 big cats have died in past 2.5 years at Delhi zoo. At least 4 died due to kidney dysfunction. Delhi Zoo Director said the issue needs to be studied in detail.

Delhi Unlock: Zoo reopens in national capital, all tickets sold overnight
Only 4,000 visitors are allowed in the zoo in a day in two slots -- 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The administration has directed all section supervisors to ensure strict compliance to Covid behaviour as the zoo reopens.

World Elephant Day: Pachyderms in Delhi, Hyderabad zoos had a feast day!
World Elephant Day is celebrated on August 12 to raise awareness about the preservation and protection of the pachyderms. Asian elephants are listed as "endangered" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The current population estimates indicate that there are about 50,000-60,000 Asian elephants in the world, more than 60% of them are in India.
