Delhi Zoo opens for tourists in two shifts

Delhi Zoo opens for tourists

Tourists will be admitted to the zoo in two shifts. The first shift from 8 am to 12 noon while in the second, tourists will be able to walk around the zoo from 1 pm to 5 pm. Only 3000 people will be allowed in the zoo, 1500 in the first shift and 1500 in the second.

Delhi Zoo Director Ramesh Pandey told Zee News that the zoo was completely sanitized before it was opened, and in between the two shifts of entry for visitors the entire zoo will be sanitized again. "We are making sure that people follow the coronavirus guidelines," he said.

Tourists are being screened before admission. It is mandatory for tourists to wear masks while walking in the zoo premises. Any violation of the rules will result in stringent action.

Notably, the zoo was closed last year in March due to coronavirus. The zoo was then opened on April 1 this year, but was closed again within 10 days when the second wave of coronavirus struck.
