Calcutta High Court has asked Bengal govt to call in central forces if stir over Prophet remark gets out of control. The order was passed after petitioners in several PILs sought deployment of Army or central forces. The bench directed the state authorities to take expeditious steps to collect video footage of incidents of violence and property vandalisation and take action as per law.
It is alleged that in the 2014 TET, 269 teachers in the second recruitment list were illegally given extra one number. Primary Education Board President Manik was asked how much he knew about the 269 illegal appointments. Another Trinamool MLA had to face CBI questioning in the recruitment corruption case.
Calcutta High Court CBI and NIA to probe an alleged case of forced conversion in West Bengal`s Malda district. Two women claimed that their husbands, brothers by relation and residents of the Kaliachak area of the district, were converted to Islam by force. The court adjourned and listed the matter for hearing on June 21, 2022 for further consideration.
