Agnipath Protest Update : Youth Congress workers protesting against the Agnipath scheme created a ruckus at Connaught Place in Delhi, tried to block the roads. Earlier, Youth Congress workers stopped the train at Tilak Bridge railway station in Delhi, however the force immediately removed them and started operating the trains.
There is heavy jam on the Delhi-Gurugram highway. An alert has been issued in view of the Agnipath protest. At the same time, checking is also being done at the Delhi-Gurugram border. Thousands of vehicles got stuck in the jam. Violence continues across the country against the Agneepath scheme, but the army and the government have made it clear that the plan will not be withdrawn. Army will issue draft notification today for recruitments under Agneepath scheme. Notification for the recruitment will be issued from July 1. The army has made it clear that if any candidate has an FIR in any police station,Then they will not be able to become Agniveers
In view of the demonstrations to be held in Delhi today regarding the Agneepath scheme, the police has issued an alert. The police has appealed to the common people not to go on some roads of Delhi today. These include Motilal Nehru Marg, Akbar Road, Man Singh Road, Tughlaq Road. The police has advised not to go on these roads from 8 am to 12 noon.
