Soon after cancellation of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (June 1), many state boards cancelled their respective Class 12 examinations amid the COVID-19 situation in India.
Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday (June 3) scrapped Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma informed that it has been decided to promote Class 10 and 12 students, but the criteria regarding the formula for allocating marks is yet to be finalised. A committee has been formed to finalise the formula for deciding the evaluation criteria for the students.

Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday (June 5) announced the cancellation of class 12 state board exams, the decision was taken on the advise of experts and the medical committee. Stalin said he received the feedback that the mental and physical well-being of students is of paramount importance. The Education Department Expert Committee will be formed to determine how marks will be awarded to the students of Class 12.

Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday (June 5) announced to cancel class 12 exams 2021. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. The cabinet decided to cancel the class 12 exams in line with the decision of the central government.

Odisha
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Friday cancelled the Odisha CHSE Board Class 12 Examination in the wake of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country. The development was confirmed by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. "Students' lives are more important than any exam," the CM said while confirming that Odisha CHSE Board Class 12 exams 2021 have been cancelled.

Rajasthan
The Rajasthan government on Wednesday (June 2) announced the cancellation of Rajasthan Board of School Education (RBSE) class 10 and 12 board exams 2021. Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra announced the decision during a press conference and gave necessary instructions to concerned officials.

Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand has cancelled the UBSE Class 12 board examinations amid spike in COVID-19 coronavirus cases in the state. Uttarakhand Education Minister Arvind Pandey said that the government has decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams. "Uttarakhand Intermediate Board Examination has been cancelled on the lines of CBSE and ICSE Board. Students will also be given promotion accordingly," Education Minister Pandey said on Wednesday.

Haryana
The Haryana government cancelled its state board examinations for Class 12 in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation. Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal on Wednesday (June 2) announced that an internal assessment will be conducted for Class 12 of the Haryana School Education Board. "The state government will follow the directions of the Central government in regarding the Class XII examination of Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani and will conduct an internal assessment based on which the results will be declared soon," Pal said.

Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Wednesday announced that the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has decided to cancel the GSEB class 12 board examination 2021. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.

Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh Board Class 12 Examination has been cancelled, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed on Wednesday. Chouhan in a video statement posted on Twitter after holding a meeting with officials said: "The class 12 board exams (organised by the MP Board of Secondary Education) for the year 2020-21 will not be held this year. The life of students is precious for us. We can take care of their career later."
