New Delhi: Some loved it, and others hated it. But the Odd-Even scheme is likely to be back in the national capital sooner than later.
As per a report in The Times of India, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi is planning to start the second phase of the road rationing scheme after the Board exams due to be held in March and April.
An official told the daily that the government believes, the ideal time to bring back the scheme would be after the Board exams so that inconvenience is not caused to school children.
The official, however, stressed that the government is committed to reducing pollution in Delhi.
Delaying the second phase of Odd-Even scheme till April will help as after Board exams get over, school buses would also be available for plying on public routes.
Several hundred school buses plied on DTC routes during the first phase of the scheme from January 1 to 15.
A large fleet of public transport buses is key to the success of Odd-Even scheme in Delhi as in the absence of the same, commuters are inconvenienced.
