It is observed under the leadership of World Health Organization to draw the attention of people towards the importance of global health. The theme for this year is Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere. 

Staying fit and healthy plays an important role in our life, but nowadays people tend to ignore their health because of their hectic daily schedules. There are little things one can do everyday to keep your fitness on point. Here are some things which you can do to stay healthy:

Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep is necessary to stay fit and healthy. Lack of sleep affects our physical and mental health tremendously.

Regular check-ups

One should undergo annual physical check ups to make sure you are fitter than ever before. Getting medical check-ups regularly benefits you because if and when something needs attention, you will get to know about it timely and can consult your doctor.

Eat a healthy balanced diet

Eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in staying healthy and fit. One should eat a balanced meal and not overeat. Your diet should include lean sources of protein such as poultry, fish, tofu and beans.

Drink plenty of water

Drinki plenty of water as it helps in keeping our bodies hydrated and is necessary to maintain a healthy body. It is the natural cleanser for our organs and digestive system. 

Do not take stress

One should not take stress as it harms the body and can cause a myriad of problems, from heart trouble to digestive problems. Say bye bye to stress and take a walk to maintain a healthy mind, body and soul.
