T-Series vs PewDiePie war takes an interesting new turn

Both T-Series and PewDiePie are eyeing for the crown of the most-subscribed channel on YouTube.

T-Series vs PewDiePie war takes an interesting new turn

The crazy YouTube war between T-Series and PewDiePie took an interesting turn after the Swedish content creator raised Rs 1.6 crores for underprivileged Indian children and donated to non-governmental organisation (NGO) Child Rights and You (CRY). He also requested his followers to stop posting offensive comments about India.

“We raised $239'000 in just a day for @CRYINDIA This will make a big positive impact for children in India! So proud of this community!” he tweeted.

In a live streaming video, Felix Kjellberg – the man behind PewDiePie – told his fan base that several comments left by the followers are “really distasteful” and dissuaded them from making such offensive statements.

Meanwhile, in the latest effort to continue PewDiePie's reign at number 1, the Pewds (Kjellberg's fans) allegedly hacked into Grand Theft Auto V to promote his YouTube channel.

Last week, a hacker caused office printers worldwide to spew out a message asking everyone to subscribe to the Swedish YouTuber's channel, raising several concerns on security.

The battle between the Indian record label T-Series and PewDiePie has been intense over the last few months. Both are eyeing for the crown of most-subscribed or followed channel.

One-man Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie, known for his game commentary and pranks, held the mantle for five years now.

Record label T Series, which has been on the Indian music scene since the 1980s, is a household name and witnessed a meteoric growth on YouTube. Its subscribers shot from some 30 million earlier this year to over 72 million, propelled by India's game-changing mobile and data service penetration.
