Bigg Boss Tamil: Rs 100 cr defamation case against Kamal Haasan, contestant Gayathri Raghuram

Mumbai: Legendary film personality Kamal Haasan has been in news for all wrong reasons in the recent past. The veteran, who made his TV debut as the host of popular reality show Bigg Boss in Tamil, is in the middle of a fresh controversy.

A defamation case has been filed against him and three others over contestant Gayathri Raghuram’s remarks.

Raghuram, who is a choreographer by profession, had used the word ‘cheri’ (meaning slum) while talking about the behaviour of a co-inmate, thereby inviting criticism from various quarters.

According to a report in Indian Express, Puthiya Tamizhagam founder-president Dr K Krishnaswamy has filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against the actor and the channel over Raghuram’s remark.

Krishnasamy has reportedly demanded an unconditional apology from the actor and the concerned party within seven days of the receipt of the notice.
