Who Is Geetu Mohandas: From Best Child Artist To Acclaimed Director Of Yash's Highly Anticipated 'Toxic'

Geetu Mohandas, also known as Gayatri Das or Geethu is born on June 8, 1981 in Kerala,  She is an Indian director and former Malayalam actress. Geethu debuted with Mohanlal in Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare (1996) and won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. She is currently making headlines for directing Yash's upcoming film Toxic.

In November 2009, Geetu Mohandas married Cinematographer and Filmmaker Rajeev Ravi. The couple has a daughter named Aradhana.

Geetu Mohandas began her career as a child artist in the Malayalam film industry. She starred alongside Mohanlal in her first film, Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare , and appeared in films like 'Sayam Sandhya,' 'Veendum', 'Rareeram', and 'En Bommukutty Ammavukku.' Geetu made her debut as a lead actor in the comedy-drama Life Is Beautiful and went on to play key roles in films such as 'Thenkasipattanam', 'Krishna Gopalakrishna', 'Nala Damayanthi', 'Oridam', 'Rappakal', 'Bharathan Effect', 'Naalu Pennungal', 'Akasha Gopuram', and 'Seetha Kalyanam'. Her last project as an actor was 'Nammal Thammil.'

Geetu Mohandas gained fame with her socio-political film Liar's Dice, which won two National Film Awards and was India’s official entry for the 87th Oscars, though it didn’t make the shortlist. Her second major directorial, Moothon starring Nivin Pauly, earned critical acclaim and won the Global Filmmaking Award at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and TIFF.
