Provide students facility to pursue 2 courses simultaneously: UGC to HEIs

UGC update: Universities to conduct exams by Aug end, new session from Oct
Universities must complete the Final Year/ Semester Exams by August 31, 2021. The universities have been directed to complete the admission process by September 30, 2021 and begin the new session from October 1, 2021.

UGC guidelines on academic calendar for 2020-21 issued amid COVID-19 pandemic
Pokhriyal announced the UGC guidelines on the academic calendar for the first year of UG and PG students of the universities for the session 2020-21 in view of COVID-19 pandemic The admissions to the first-year programmes for the session 2020-21 will be completed by the end of October 2020 The last date for admissions to fill up the remaining vacant seats shall be November 30, 2020, said the ministry of education

SC upholds UGC decision, says states cannot promote students without exams
- The Court gave states the discretion to approach the University Grants Commission (UGC) for an extension of the deadline by which final year exams should be completed. - The Supreme Court on Tuesday (August 18) had reserved its order on a batch of pleas challenging a circular of the University Grants Commission (UGC) mandating to conduct the final term exams in all affiliated universities by the end of September.
