Twitter to allow Android users to share tweets on Snapchat, Instagram Stories
Users who have updated their Twitter accounts to the most recent version can now share their tweets directly to Instagram stories and Snapchat. Twitter has also recently announced an Edit Tweet button for users. According to the company, users will be able to edit tweets several times within 30 minutes of their publication.

Twitter adds third party sign up with Apple, Google
Twitter has now allowed users to link their existing account with an Apple or Google one, as long as the emails are the same. This feature was unveiled for beta users last month and now it has been widely available for everyone. On Android, signing into an account created with Apple doesn't appear to be possible.

Twitter blocks accounts for attempting to evade Donald Trump ban
Trump was banned from Twitter, where he had more than 88 million followers and multiple other social media platforms following the deadly Jan. 6 siege of the US Capitol by his supporters. A Trump representative said they had nothing to do with the suspended accounts, which included @DJTDesk, @DJTrumpDesk, @DeskofDJT and @DeskOfTrump1. Trump plans to launch his own social media platform, an adviser has said.

Twitter, Facebook and others remove nearly 100 posts after govt order
Twitter said it has notified the impacted account holders of its action taken in response to a legal request from the Indian government, while Facebook did not comment on the issue. Twitter removed or restricted access to more than 50 posts in the past month at the behest of the government, including tweets that criticized its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this year, more than 500 accounts were suspended and access to hundreds of others in India blocked after the government ordered the microblogging platform to restrain the spread of misinformation and inflammatory content related to farmers' protests.

Twitter removes 50 tweets critical of India's COVID management
In February, Twitter took a range of enforcement actions against certain Twitter accounts after the Indian government ordered it to take down more than 500 accounts for clear violations of its rules. Despite permanently banning these accounts, Twitter said that it does not believe that the actions it has been directed to take by the Ministry of Information Technology are consistent with Indian law. The IT Ministry had sent Twitter three notices to block nearly 1,435 accounts that were posting content in relation to the farmer protests in India.

Now Twitter will allow use of security key as only authentication method
Twitter has announced a new update that will let users use security keys as the only authentication method soon, adding that the platform will allow multiple security keys per account instead of just one. At present, users use a security key to sign in to their Twitter accounts, but you need to have another 2FA method -- like an authenticator app or SMS codes -- enabled as a backup. Users don't have to type in a code that could be intercepted by a malicious third party.

Mumbai Police issues advisory after Twitter accounts of personalities hacked
The Mumbai Police on Thursday warned the people and issued an advisory after several Twitter accounts were hacked. It warned that it is possible that hackers could try to gain access to prominent Indian Twitter profiles in a similar fashion. The Maharashtra Cyber has also asked other social media platforms to be on the lookout for a similar incident.
