On this day in 2008: Abhinav Bindra won India's first individual Olympic gold
Bindra achieved the feat during the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 10-metre air rifle shooter was seen at the top of his craft. The shooter had shot a 10.8 on his last shot and sealed a gold medal for India.

India bags eight medals on day-2 of Asian Shooting Championships
The contingent was able to win five medals on day one of the competition and now the total medal tally stands at - five gold, three silver, and six bronze medals. Kuwait, Chinese Taipei, and Qatar bagged the three quotas.The Men`s Trap team of Kynan, Manavjit, and Prithviraj was able to win the silver medal with a score of 357 and it was six short of Kuwait who won the gold medal.
