Centre is hiving off Shipping House and the training institute and some other non-core assets of SCI. The SCI board in August last year had approved a demerger scheme.

RTI activist files complaint against JM Baxi company, SCI officials
RTI activist Asad Patel has filed a complaint against the officials of Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) and JM Baxi and Company, which is one of the biggest firms in the shipping services sector. The complaint was sent to the Shipping Corporation's Director of Grievances on November 11, accusing the SCI of misappropriation of money and lack of transparency in its conduct.

SCI, GAIL in talks for $3 billion LNG ships deal
Shipping Corporation of India and GAIL (India) Limited are currently in discussion to forge a tie-up under which the latter will acquire nine LNG ships with almost USD 3 billion and the former will run them, a senior official of the SCI said.
