Rupee has appreciated in real terms since 2014

The rupee may have weakened against the dollar in nominal terms, but at real effective exchange rates, it appreciated by 5.5 percent in 2014-15 and 3 percent in 2015-16, the government informed Parliament today.

Rupee hits new 30-month low at 68.72, down 15 paise

The rupee today plunged to a fresh 30-month low of 68.72, dropping 15 paise against the US dollar on fresh demand for the American currency from banks and importers in view of persistent fall in domestic equity market amidst foreign capital outflows.
