Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a tough stand against religious conversion in Uttar Pradesh, but in spite of this, cases of religious conversion have come to the fore from two areas in UP. On the one hand, in UP's Rae Bareli, the police have taken 12 people into custody on charges of religious conversion. On the other hand, Hindu organizations in Bareilly have alleged that efforts were being made to convert more than 100 people.

This matter arose when the gangsters beat up two Dalit youths over Goddess Durga Aarti. The Dalit community also complained about this to police. But they did not take any action.

Calcutta High Court CBI and NIA to probe an alleged case of forced conversion in West Bengal`s Malda district. Two women claimed that their husbands, brothers by relation and residents of the Kaliachak area of the district, were converted to Islam by force. The court adjourned and listed the matter for hearing on June 21, 2022 for further consideration.
