On hunger strike, DCW chief Swati Maliwal shifted to hospital after fainting

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal, who is on a hunger strike since December 3 demanding death penalty for convicts in rape cases within six months, was shifted to Delhi's Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital on Sunday morning after her health deteriorated.

Madhya Pradesh govt gives nod to amendment bill for death penalty for child rapists

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Sunday approved handing out the death sentence to rape convicts in cases involving girls of 12 years of age and below. The Cabinet also passed a resolution for the death sentence for gangrape convicts. It also approved the amendment in the penal code to increase the fine and punishment for rape convicts.

4 get life sentence for raping female defence official

The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court Judge S S Gosavi yesterday held the four -- Deepak Jawale, Abhay Purey, Vijay Bade and Sunil Ekhande -- guilty of rape and slapped a fine of Rs five lakh on each one of them.
