AAP' 8 of 9 women candidates register wins in Delhi Assembly election 2020

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) registered a superlative victory in the Delhi Assembly election 2020 on Tuesday (February 11) and eight of the nine women candidates fielded by the Arvind Kejriwal-led party won their seats. The winners from AAP included Atishi, Dhanwati Chandela, Raj Kumari Dhillon, Bandana Kumari, Preeti Tomar, Bhavna Gaur, Pramila Tokas and Rakhi Birla. The only woman candidate from AAP who lost the election was Sarita Singh.

Jung, Meena will be summoned over Sheila govt 'scams': Dy Speaker

In a development that may further escalate tension between Lt Governor and AAP government, Delhi Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla Thursday said Najeeb Jung and ACB chief M K Meena will be summoned for "questioning" in connection with four cases pertaining to alleged scams during the Sheila Dikshit rule.

Hours after AAP on Wednesday wrote to Lt Governor demanding that he and ACB chief be made "co-accused" in four cases pertaining to alleged scams during the Sheila Dikshit government, Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla said Najeeb Jung might be summoned by Petition Committee of the House for questioning, if required.

Rakhi Birla elected Delhi Deputy Speaker
