Govt considering proposals for extending Rs 35,000 cr PLI scheme

PLI (production linked incentive) benefits are also being considered for toys, some chemicals and shipping containers. The objective of the scheme is to make domestic manufacturing globally competitive and create global champions in manufacturing.

15 more firms selected under PLI scheme for white goods

Last year, as many as 46 firms, including Daikin, Panasonic, Syska and Havells were selected in the first round of the scheme. In the second round, 19 companies had applied. The ministry said the scheme is expected to lead to total production of AC and LED lights components of about Rs 1,22,671 crore over five years.

Cabinet approves Rs 76,000-crore PLI scheme for semiconductor manufactures

He said that the scheme envisages an investment of Rs 76,000 crore in semiconductor production. The promised sum will be rolled out in a duration of 5-6 years. Currently, the world is faced with a semiconductor shortage.
