The government has done a surgical strike on the anti-national activities of PFI and has imposed a ban of 5 years. The government has said that the activities of organizations associated with PFI are a big threat to the security of the country. PFI has been repeatedly targeted by government agencies for its anti-national activities, but every time it got saved it by citing the Constitution.
The PFI was engaged in an anti-national conspiracy and this threat was first sensed by the NIA. Based on the intelligence inputs received by the NIA in its investigation, today the central government has banned PFI for 5 years. The government believes that PFI was creating such an atmosphere in the country, due to which there was a fear of spreading communal tension in the country.
Before the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday morning banned the PFI and its associates for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the agencies had learnt that the PFI had turned into a violent organisation which indulged in terror activities, hawala funding besides promoting hatred between different communities.
The MHA has banned PFI and its 8 affiliated organizations for 5 years. The Central Government said that the PFI and its allies or fronts have been found to be involved in serious crimes, including terrorism and its financing, targeted horrific killings, defying the constitutional structure of the country, disturbing public order, etc.
