The "Hera Pheri" actor recently came under fire for a statement he made during an election rally in Gujarat. During his speech addressing the crowd he said "Gas cylinders are expensive, but their price will come down. People will get employment too. But what will happen if Rohingya migrants and Bangladeshis start living around you, like in Delhi? What will you do with gas cylinders? Cook fish for the Bengalis?" he said.
Actor-politician Paresh Rawal had landed in a soup after making the controversial statement while campaigning for the ruling BJP in the city of Valsad in poll-bound Gujarat. Addressing a rally, Rawal claimed that the people of Gujarat can still tolerate inflation but not "Bangladeshis and Rohingyas" living next door.
Paresh Rawal campaigned for the BJP in Valsad last Tuesday ahead of the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly election. Paresh's campaign video was also posted on Twitter by Gujarati media 'Desh Gujarat'. Paresh also attacked Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal from that meeting in Valsad.
