Centre asks Twitter to remove around 100 posts for ‘spreading fake COVID info'
The move was necessary against users who are misusing social media during the grave humanitarian crisis for unethical purposes, sources told ANI. A Twitter spokesperson had earlier informed that tweets that advance harmful, false or misleading narratives about COVID-19 vaccinations would continue to be removed.

Restrain WhatsApp from implementing new privacy policy, govt asks Delhi HC
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology made the statement in its affidavit filed in response to a petition challenging the new privacy policy of social networking platform WhatsApp. The new policy gives users a choice to either accept it or exit the app, but they cannot opt not to share their data with other Facebook-owned or third-party apps. The matter is listed for further hearing on April 20.

Internet-based app services to contribute Rs 18 lakh crore to India's GDP by 2020
According to the study, a 10 percent increase in total Internet traffic and mobile Internet traffic increases India`s GDP by 3.3 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively, as against the global average of 1.3 percent and 0.7 percent.
