IPL 2020: Karthik credits coach McCullum for decision to bat higher

KKR Skipper Dinesh Karthik has given credit to their coach Brendon McCullum for sending him up the order to bat. Karthik came in to bat at the number 5 position - the decision paid dividends as he went on to score a rapid-fire 58 from 29 balls which powered KKR to a competitive total of 164/6. Chasing the totals, Kings XI could only muster 162 runs and lost the match by 2 runs. KKR have thus reached the third spot in the points table.

KKR mounted a late comeback to beat KXIP by 2 runs on Saturday (Oct 10) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Opting to bat first, Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik's fifties powered KKR to a competitive 164/6 from their 20 overs. Chasing the total, KXIP were cruising at 115/0 from 14 Overs but in a dramatic turnaround by the KKR bowlers, KXIP lost the match which went down to the wire.
