India sends 30 tonnes of equipment to Mauritius to help contain oil spill: MEA

A 10-member Indian Coast Guard (ICG) team specialising in containing oil spill has also been deployed to Mauritius, an MEA statement said. India has also sent Ayurvdeic medicines and a medical team as part of the assistance to help it in dealing with the coronavirus crisis. India's assistance is in line with its policy to extend humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to its neighbours in the Indian Ocean region, the MEA said.

Mauritius declares environmental emergency after stranded ship spills fuel

Mauritius PM said, "Our country doesn't have the skills and expertise to refloat stranded ships, so I have appealed for help from France."
