India responds befittingly to Pakistan's ludicrous claims on Jammu and Kashmir

India on Thursday lambasted Pakistan for its ludicrous claims on Jammu and Kashmir.and asked it to reflect on its actions in the region. India said that while Pakistan's "misrepresentations" are not surprising but it "cannot conceal the significant progress that J&K has made in the year. India added that Pakistan, or no other country, has locus standi on Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP hoists Tricolour, celebrates 1st anniversary of abrogation of Article 370

On the first anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP celebrated the occassion at many places across Srinagar with functions held by party leaders. On this day last year, the government of India took the historic decision of abrogating Article of 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and divided the state to two union territories.

One year anniversary of Article 370's abrogation: What changed for J&K

On August 5, 2019 the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A was announced in Parliament, which resulted in the bifurcation of the state of J&K into two union territories. A year on, section 144 has been imposed in Srinagar to prevent some terrorist outfits from marking the day as a 'Black Day' also to keep a check on the COVID-19 pandemic that has swept the UT.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday called for an all-party meeting on August 5, on the first anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. Abdullah has called the meeting of many mainstream political parties at his residence to chalk out a political strategy on ‘lost’ Article 370. In 2019, Article 370 was scrapped in Jammu and Kashmir and two union territories--Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh came into existence.
