Delhi HC on Tuesday charged Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar and seven other accused under sections related to rioting, unlawful assembly, obstructing the public servant, damaging Properties and other sections.

Jamia violence: Delhi Police names former Congress MLA Asif Khan as accused

The chargesheet was filed before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gurmohina Kaur, who sent Imam to judicial custody till March 3 after he was produced in the court on expiry of his custodial interrogation on Tuesday.

DP: Chargesheet filed in Jamia violence case of Dec 15, names of 18 people included

Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet in the violence on December 15 at Jamia Millia Islamia University. Police have named the name of JNU student Sharjeel Imam in the charge sheet as "provocative". The police filed the charge sheet on 13 February.

Delhi Police names Sharjeel Imam as instigator in Dec 15 Jamia violence case

Sharjeel Imam, former JNU student, who had been arrested by the Delhi Police earlier, has been named as the instigator behind the violence in Jamia Nagar and New Friends Colony on December 15 last year.
