ITR Filing FY 2019-20: Deadline to claim Section 80C benefits expires today

The popular income tax benefits falling under Section 80C tax include PPF, Employees' Provident Fund, Fixed Deposits, NPS, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Life Insurance Premium. On July 29, CBD extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for FY 2018-19 (AY 2019-20) from July 31, 2020 to September 30, 2020. The date for revised ITR has also been extended for the said period.
