Russia-Ukraine War: FIFA ban means 2018 WC hosts can't take part in 2022

Russia have taken part in 4 World Cup tournament since December 1991. Since their entry into the World Cup as Russia, their best result was a quarterfinal finish in 2018 when they were the hosts.

Russia-Ukraine War: Ice hockey federation suspends Russian, Belarusian teams

On Monday, the International Olympic Committee’s executive board recommended federations to ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from competition. USA Hockey backed the IIHF’s decision.
