Small and payments banks have not yet devised a business model which can be termed viable, SBI Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya said Monday.

RBI grants in-principle approval to 10 applicants for small finance banks
The “in-principle” approval granted will be valid for 18 months to enable the applicants to comply with the requirements under the guidelines and fulfil other conditions as may be stipulated by the RBI.

RBI to clarify on licensing norms for small & finance banks
The RBI Monday said it will come out with detailed clarifications for the benefit of intended applicants on newly-issued guidelines for setting up small finance and payment banks.
