Afghan envoy asked for more visas by India, especially for students. Farid Mamundzay thanked India for its help to Afghanistan. Mamundzay called for international community to support Afghanistan.

Taliban's existence impossible without support of nations in region: Envoy

The attacks came as a surprise when the Taliban had attacked several of our districts at a time when we were busy with the withdrawal of the international forces, said Mamundzay. We respect the decision of the Indian government to temporarily suspend services in Kandahar and Herat, the Afghan envoy said. We don't see any reduction or cessation of violence on part of the Taliban, they have chosen a path that will continue to bleed our people, he added.

Afghan envoy thanks Sikh NGO for relief for refugees, pays homage to CG Kalra

The Afghan envoy also paid homage to India's Consul General in Afghan city Mazar-e-Sharif Vinesh Kalra who died due to COVID. He said CG Kalra was a "patriot, a very noble diplomat" who represented "India with great passion."

New Afghan envoy to India calls nation 'generous neighbour', tweets in Hindi

Afghanistan's new envoy to India has called the nation a "generous neighbour who has stood with us in difficult times and have shared their bread with us". Farid Mamundzay tweeted, "I am honoured & humbled to have been designated as the new Afghan ambassador to India, a traditional and historic friend of Afghanistan." He said he would "further strengthen our ties at all levels for a peaceful & prosperous Afghanistan and India."
