Facebook plans to hire 10,000 in Europe to build 'metaverse'

Facebook also said in July it was creating a product team to work on the metaverse which would be part of Facebook Reality Labs, its augmented reality and virtual reality group. The company has faced a storm of criticism and a Senate panel hearing since a whistleblower leaked internal studies showing Facebook knew its sites could be harmful to young people's mental health. Facebook expanded its range of banned "attacks" on public figures to include a range of sexual or degrading images of their bodies.

Facebook raising minimum wage of contractors, content moderators

The US-based company had drawn flak after reports of contract workers facing tough work conditions and getting low compensation came out. These reports suggested that some workers also suffered from post-traumatic stress.
