Jammu and Kashmir nominates nodal officers to assist Delimitation Commission

The order said the nodal officers shall be responsible for assisting the deputy commissioners in providing timely information as may be sought by the commission. The commission wrapped up its four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday during which it interacted with political parties and district administrations. Except for the Peoples Democratic Party and the Awami National Conference, the commission interacted with all political parties and officials concerned during the visit.

PDP stays away from J&K Delimitation panel meet

Mufti was among the J&K leaders to attend the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on June 24. "Delimitation Commission lacks constitutional and legal mandate in the first place and its very existence and objectives have left every ordinary resident of J-K with many questions," the letter stated. The Commission is in Jammu and Kashmir till July 9 to interact with union territory administrative officials, political parties and public representatives.
