Cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh during next 2-3 days and over Odisha during January 28 to 30.

IMD forecasts heavy rainfall over central India, issues 'Red' alert for Mumbai

Alerts by the IMD are colour-coded from green to red. A 'green' alert stands for 'no warning' and the forecast is of light to moderate rain. A 'red' alert stands for 'warning' and asks authorities to 'take action'. An 'orange' alert indicates that the authorities are expected to 'be prepared'.

Intense rainfall spell over India's central parts during next 5 days, says IMD

Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely along with isolated extremely heavy falls (≥ 20 cm) over Odisha on August 19, Chhattisgarh on August 19 and August 20, and East Madhya Pradesh on August 20. The IMD also predicted the same spell over West Madhya Pradesh on August 21 and August 22, East Rajasthan on August 22 and Gujarat on August 22 and August 23.

IMD predicts heavy rainfall over western coast, central India till Thursday

The monsoon will enter in its active phase from August 3 in India bringing heavy rainfall over parts of central and western India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. As per the weather department, the heavy rainfall condition will continue till August 5.
