At just 32 years old, Root has the potential for longevity in the game. Recently, he scored his 32nd Test century against the West Indies at Trent Bridge. During his excellent knock, Root went past Brian Lara to become the seventh-highest run-getter in Test format. It is worth noting that with 143 Tests played, Joe Root has scored 12,027 runs to his name. Furthermore, Sachin Tendulkar has played exactly 200 Tests in his career, where he scored 15,921 runs.
