Eight archers escape the burning train, lose equipment to fire
The athletes were aged between 17 and 20 years. None of the archers, coming from Jabalpur, sustained burn injuries. All their equipment and luggage were burned.

Kiren Rijiju sanctions Rs 5 lakh each to help boxer Sunil, archer Neeraj
The Sports Ministry has come forward to extend financial support to Uttar Pradesh boxer Sunil Chauhan and his brother archer Neeraj Chauhan who were facing financial crunch after their father, who is the only earning member of the family, lost his job due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the family was forced to sell vegetables to make ends meet. Taking cognizance of the matter and looking at the financial situation of the family, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju has sanctioned an ex-gratia financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the athletes under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons.

Operation on injured Assam minor archer successfully done in Delhi's AIIMS
On January 9, the incident took place at 3 pm in Chabua of Dibrugarh district during practice when due to a wrong aim of a fellow player the arrow hit her shoulder as she was standing directly near the board.
