7th Pay Commission: Centre may finalise on basic hike, DA arrears soon

The demand to increase the fitment factor be raised has been put forward by several central government employees unions. The unions have also been demanding a hike in the minimum pay from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. With an increase in the fitment factor, the minimum wage will of the government employees also increase.

The 7th Pay Commission Thursday recommended more than doubling the 'Military Service Pay' to defence personnel, and suggested that Short Service Commissioned Officers should be allowed to exit the Armed Forces at any point in time between 7 and 10 years of service.
