New Delhi: In a short while, world number one Novak Djokovic will take on familiar foe Stan Wawrinka in the final of US Open men's singles event.

1. Djokovic, the 2011 and 2015 champion, is appearing in his sixth US Open final in seven years and seventh overall.


2. The 29-year-old Serb is trying to become the first back-to-back champion since Roger Federer won the last two of five in a row in 2007-08.


3. In his 21st Grand Slam final, Djokovic is attempting to capture a third Grand Slam title in the same season for the second straight year and third time in his career (2011, 2015). Federer also accomplished the feat three times (2004, 2006-07).
