Defending champions Sania Mirza, Martina Hingis enter Wimbledon third round

New Delhi: Defending champions Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis registered a comfortable straight sets win over Japanese pair of Eri Hozumi and Miyu Kato to enter the third round of women's doubles at Wimbledon on Sunday.

The top-seeds took just 54 minutes in their 6-3, 6-1 win at All England Club's Court No. 3. Indo-Swiss were clinical in their approach and wrapped up the second round clash in 52 minutes on Court No. 3.

The Indo-Swiss pair probably played their best tennis for some time and the good form was evident from the fact that they managed to convert five of the eight break points that came their way.

In the next round, they will play Christina McHale of USA and Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia.

The American-Latvian team got the better of 13th seeds Alla Kudryavtseva and Vania King 6-1 6-4 in their second round match.
