New Delhi: Ace tennis player Andy Murray became a father for the first time as his wife Kim Sears gave birth to a girl, reportedly on Sunday.
The world No.2 got married to Sears in April 2015 and they announced the pregnancy of their child in the summer.
Murray took many by surprise during the Australian Open 2016, when he revealed he could cut short his first grand slam of the year and fly home if the baby had arrived earlier than expected.
"My child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me, than a tennis match. It's a big change for me and my wife, but that's the current priority and I'll see after that,” said the Scot.
According to a report in BBC, the couple, both 28, met as teenagers in 2005 through tennis circles.
Kim's pregnancy was confirmed publicly in August after they had informed their family and friends about the same, following a 12-week scan.
