Lionel Messi reveals real reason behind 'going blonde'; no it wasn't Aaron Ramsey

New Delhi: The summer of 2016 saw Lionel Messi endure many hard on-field and off-field moments, especially the Copa America final loss to Chile.

The Argentine legend even decided to discontinue his national team career accepting that a major honour with Argentina is just not acceptable to destiny.

Later, pictures emerged of the Barcelona forward with a new blonde look, a trend set by fellow footballers Aaron Ramsey and Maroune Fellaini during Euro 2016.

As reported by Independent, Messi revealed the real reason behind the new hair color during an interview with Argentine actor Mingo.

He said: “I made a change to start from zero.

“A lot had gone on, things had happened, and I said to myself: ‘I have to break this and start again’.

“It was how I felt in that moment. Everything came crashing down.

“I felt like that [Copa America final] was the one, given how the team was and how we’d played in the competition. It was a huge disappointment.”
