London: Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is to wear the famous red jersey of the English football club again.
Fans of the city's favourite son will have to make a round trip of over 34,000 km to see the 35-year-old wear that famous Liverpool FC shirt, reports Xinhua.
Gerrard has been selected to play in a team of Liverpool Legends meeting an Australian legends team in a clash due to take place in Sydney in January.
It will be the first time Gerrard has pulled on a Liverpool shirt since departing for American football Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer.
Former team-mates Jamie Carragher and Ian Rush will play alongside Gerrard in the clash of the legends at the ANZ Stadium on January 7.

Gerrard is back on Merseyside following the end of his first season with LA Galaxy.
The 35-year-old said on Monday: "It will be great to play with the official Liverpool FC Legends. The squad looks like it's a great set of lads, it'll be good to get on the pitch with them. Our fans are the best and to play in front of them again will be emotional, I'm sure."
The match also marks the high-profile debut of the Australian Legends side, which will feature Brett Emerton, Tony Popovic and Mark Bosnich.
In a statement on the club's website Monday night, Liverpool FC said Gerrard, Carragher and Rush will be joined by Dietmar Hamann and John Arne Riise, with the full squad set to be announced over the coming weeks.
