Defiant Louis van Gaal insisted Manchester United can still win league title

New Delhi: A defiant Louis van Gaal insisted that Manchester United can still win the Premier League title despite losing to Bournemouth on Saturday.
The 1-2 defeat at Dean Court yesterday extended Red Devil's winless streak to five matches, which included the exit from UEFA Champions League by losing 2-3 to Wolfsburg on Wednesday.
The Dutchman believed that the team has "the selection to do that [winning the league title]". But the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager expressed his concern at United's poor run.
To achieve the feat, van Gaal said, United will need to win three matches in a row before the start of the new year. They will host Norwich City on December 19, then travel to Stoke City on December 26, before the Chelsea date at home on December 28.
“We have to make a revival this week and that is always very difficult because you have just lost two matches in row and that is not happening so much for Manchester United,” said Van Gaal.
He added, "Of course I am concerned because we have lost two matches in a row and that is not a usual thing. We have to stick together and prepare our match against Norwich City and you have to win because otherwise it is more difficult."
United are in the fourth place with 29 points from 16 matches.
