Scoreline does not reflect our performance against Atletico de Kolkata, says FC Pune City coach David Platt

ATK rode on Hume's hattrick to defeat Pune 4-1 and the first goal was scored from a seemingly offside position.

Kolkata: Former England player and FC Pune City coach David Platt today said their 1-4 rout by defending champions Atletico de Kolkata did not reflect their actual performance in the Indian Super League football tournament here on Friday.

ATK rode on Iain Hume's hattrick to defeat Pune City FC 4-1 and the first goal was scored from a seemingly offside position but referee Dilan Perera adjudged the goal valid, fuelling a controversy.

"Somebody asked me whether it was an offisde? But it's irrelevant now. It was given a goal and probably the video footage will show what it is. But when we got 0-1 down it's little difficult to come back," the Englishman said.

"I don't think the scoreline reflect our performance. After being 0-1 down, we played our way back into game, we started to create chances and dominate the possession, we hit the post thrice. But it becomes a mountain to climb once they were 0-2 up."

Pune City FC have two more matches to go and Platt said they're still in line for a last-four berth.

"It's very difficult now. But we can't rest too much on the game. We have two games left and we got an opportunity to win both the games."
