New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir's name has been missing from the Indian cricket roster for more than two years. It was a delight to fans seeing the flymboyant left-hander comeback to the Indian team. Gambhir, after getting off to a good start, was dismissed for 29 by New Zealand seamer Trent Boult.

What a sight to watch Gautam Gambhir play again and that square cut boundary was class.#indvsnz — abhi changer (@abhichanger) October 8, 2016
The Delhi-born batsman, who was drafted in the side ahead of an injured Shikhar Dhawan, dealt with the Kiwi bowlers as if it was an ODI. He hit three fours and two sixes and looked good for the most part of the innings before making the walk back to the dressing room to a really good delivery by Boult.
It was quiet an innings for Gambhir. It took him four balls to get off the mark, when he crisply cut towards the point for a boundary.
Next over, the aggressive batsman pulled Matt Henry for consecutive sixes over square-leg – an act to which amused Henry couldn't stop smiling. Gautam hardly seemed in trouble against the moving ball and looked firmly in control of his shots before boult removed him.
