New Delhi: The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar, who is yet to formally take charge, on Monday decided to shift the treasurer's office to Mumbai.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the decision was made by Manohar even before he took over as the BCCI president.

Until now, the Indian board had the treasurer's office at two locations - Delhi and Chennai.

Since the treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary resides in Delhi, BCCI had hired two rooms in the ITC Maurya hotel to function as his office.

MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai was home to the second office, which is where all the important financial documents of the board are at.

The new treasurer's office in Mumbai will be located at an old office in the Brabourne Stadium compound.

"I had a meeting with BCCI president and we discussed how he and I can jointly execute his vision," Chaudhary told the newspaper.

''There is no point having a office in Chennai when the board treasurer is not from Chennai. Manohar made it clear that even the secretary's office should be in Mumbai and all the officebearers should fly to Mumbai each week to sign all the documents," said another BCCI official.

Last year, Aditya Verma had alleged that the board had spent close to Rs 40 lakh for converting two ITC Maurya hotel rooms into an office for the treasurer and Srinivasan loyalist Chaudhary.
