India Under Gautam Gambhir - Defeat In Australia, Loss In Sri Lanka: What's Next For Star Coach?

Under Gautam Gambhir's coaching, India won the T20I series against Sri Lanka, whitewashing hosts 3-0. It was Gambhir's first assignment as head coach and Suryakumar Yadav's first series as full-time T20I captain of India.

Under Gautam Gambhir's coaching, India hit a new low in their cricketing history when they were whitewashed 0-3 by New Zealand in the Test series. Before the defeat against New Zealand, India had not lost a home Test series since 2012.

After a disappointing Australia tour, Gautam Gambhir has challenging assignments ahead as India coach. India are set to play white ball series against England at home, before featuring in the much-awaited ICC Champions Trophy.

Thereafter, India will travel to England in June 2025 for the five-match Test series. However, it will be interesting to see whether Gambhir will be able to save his coaching job or not, given the current situation.
