This partnership is the highest in the history of the tournament. It might be difficult for future players to achieve such a remarkable opening partnership.  

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni holds the record for leading a team in the most matches in the Asia Cup. He captained the Indian team in the tournament from 2008 to 2012. Although Dhoni reached the final in 2008 and won the trophy in 2010, he couldn't break the record in the 2012 edition. Dhoni's leadership record is unlikely to be broken by any other captain in the future.  

Both Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka and MS Dhoni from India are considered the best wicketkeepers in cricket history.
