The much-awaited BCCI Awards 2024 ceremony took place in Hyderabad on Tuesday, marking the revival of this prestigious event after a hiatus since 2019. Cricket enthusiasts and stars gathered to celebrate outstanding performances.

Initiated in 2006-07, the BCCI Awards honour exceptional cricket achievements. The annual felicitation ceremony recognizes standout players and presents Lifetime Achievement awards, adding a touch of glamour to the cricketing calendar.

The Polly Umrigar Award, synonymous with excellence in men's international cricket, witnessed illustrious winners. Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, and the rising star Shubman Gill claimed the coveted award for their outstanding performances.

Deepti Sharma shone brightly at the BCCI Awards, clinching the Best International Cricketer - Women award for two seasons, 2019-20 and 2022-23. Her stellar performances showcased her prowess and consistency on the international stage.

The young sensation Yashaswi Jaiswal made waves by bagging the Best International Debut (Men) award for the 2022-23 season. Following in the footsteps of cricketing giants, Jaiswal's promise and potential were duly recognized.

Ravi Shastri, the former India player and coach, along with Farokh Engineer, received the prestigious Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. Meanwhile, the Polly Umrigar Award added more feathers to the caps of Shami, Ashwin, Bumrah, and Gill.

Yashasvi Jaiswal claimed the Dilip Sardesai Award for Most Runs in Test Cricket for the 2022-23 season. Additionally, the ODIs saw stars like Punam Raut, Mithali Raj, Poonam Yadav, and Jhulan Goswami securing top positions for runs and wickets.
