Shaktipeeth Expressway: 802-KM Connectivity Boost For Nagpur-Goa - Check Route, Map, Villages, Other Details
Shaktipeeth Expressway: The 802-kilometer Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway is set to redefine transportation between Nagpur and Goa by drastically reducing the travel time from 18-20 hours to just 8-10 hours. Developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), this six-lane expressway will boost connectivity across 12 districts, linking key pilgrimage sites and driving tourism and economic progress.
Accessibility To Pilgrimage
A key feature of the expressway is its connection between Wardha and Sindhudurg, providing improved accessibility to prominent pilgrimage destinations. This connectivity is expected to stimulate both spiritual tourism and economic growth in the region, as devotees and tourists can travel more efficiently.
Starting Point And Route Details
The expressway begins in Pavnar, Wardha district, and concludes at Patradevi on the Maharashtra-Goa border. Passing through 12 districts—such as Wardha, Yavatmal, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, and Sindhudurg—it offers a faster, more convenient route for travelers while promoting regional tourism and development.
New Milestones
The Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway will become one of India’s longest highways, overtaking the 701-kilometer Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway. Beyond its impressive length, the road symbolizes a bridge between cultural traditions, spiritual landmarks, and the economic aspirations of Maharashtra’s people.
Overcoming Challenges
After navigating significant obstacles, the project has now been greenlit. With Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directing expedited land acquisition, the Rs 86,000-crore initiative has reached a critical stage. Modeled after the successful Samruddhi Expressway, the Shaktipeeth Expressway is a testament to the state’s commitment to improving connectivity and reducing travel times.
Villages Touching Expressway
Villages from which the expressway will pass include Sangavade, Sangavadewadi, Halasavade, Nerli, Vikaswadi, Kaneriwadi, Kaneri, Kogil Budruk and Khebwade among others.
Growth And Connectivity
Spanning a remarkable 805 kilometers, the Shaktipeeth Expressway will be the largest highway in Maharashtra. Its purpose extends beyond travel convenience to include fostering economic development, bridging districts, and creating a seamless link between Nagpur and Goa. This initiative is expected to catalyze growth across multiple sectors, enhancing quality of life for millions.
